Mission Statement
Self Reliance of Utah provides support to adults with mild to moderate cognitive disabilities. We work individually with clients to develop a variety of life skills; community awareness, independent living, financial understanding, employment, and a social network which will allow them to grow in confidence and become self reliant.
Organization Profile
Self Reliance of Utah is a young and energetic agency. We opened our doors in July of 2008 and we currently provide four programs in the areas of independent living skills, finances, life skills, and employment. We are scheduled to add in a fifth program in November 2009 which will provide opportunities for community activities.
Our agency supports adults who need basic assistance to live on their own in a variety of settings depending on the needs of the client. We provide the services the clients determine they need with the goal of creating a well rounded support system where they can try new things, succeed and fail, learn from that and grow.
Currently we serve adults with disabilities from birth. In the past we have served or counseled clients or their family members who have beginning stages of dementia, Traumatic Brain Injury, and mild mental illness.
