Mission Statement
Huntsman Cancer Foundation&039;s sole purpose is to fund the mission of Huntsman Cancer Institute: to understand cancer from its beginnings, to use that knowledge in the creation and improvement of cancer treatments, to relieve the suffering of cancer patients, and to provide education about cancer risk, prevention, and care.
Organization Profile
The Huntsman Cancer Foundation gives a Reason to Hope® to cancer patients and their families and is dedicated to funding cancer research, cancer treatment and education programs, research and patient-care facilities, and to ensuring excellence in these endeavors through the development and prudent stewardship of private resources. Huntsman Cancer Foundation only funds requests for cancer programs at Huntsman Cancer Institute.
• All Huntsman Cancer Institute fundraising initiatives occur through Huntsman Cancer Foundation, which is a public, fully-integrated, Type 3 501(c)(3).
• Huntsman Cancer Foundation’s sole purpose is to fund the mission of Huntsman Cancer Institute.
• Huntsman Cancer Foundation does not entertain grant requests outside of Huntsman Cancer Institute.
• In 1995, the Huntsman family founded the Huntsman Cancer Foundation with the sole purpose to insure the financial future of the work at Huntsman Cancer Institute.
• Annually, Huntsman Cancer Foundation secures one third of the operating budget for the life-saving resource at Huntsman Cancer Institute.
• Huntsman Cancer Institute is part of the University of Utah and is not owned by the Huntsman family.
