Mission Statement
Salt Lake Valley Habitat for Humanity seeks to build decent affordable homes for working families through partnership with volunteers in our community.

Organization Profile
Salt Lake Valley Habitat for Humanity is a private 501 (c) (3) non profit organization that provides permanent housing opportunities, along with comprehensive financial life skills to low income families in Salt Lake and Tooele Counties. Since 1986 we have built 75 homes. The populations we serve are low income families making just 30 to 60 percent of the area median income. The families partner with Salt Lake Valley Habitat for Humanity and community volunteers working 200 hours of sweat equity and attending ten homeownership classes. Families who successfully complete the partnership program receive a zero percent mortgage loan for 20 to 40 years. The monthly mortgage payments are put in the Fund for Humanity and are used to build more homes. This helps to maintain a viable program for years to come.

Salt Lake Valley Habitat for Humanity accommodated over 1,380 volunteers last fiscal year totaling 7,080 hours. Our building sites have proven to be the perfect arena for individuals, faith based groups and corporate organizations to promote a sense of community working side by side with partner families.

Additional Information
Salt Lake Valley Habitat for Humanity ReStore is a retail outlet where quality used and surplus building materials are donated by individuals, businesses, contractors, and other organizations who wish to show their support for Habitat. Products are then sold at below retail prices. Proceeds from ReStore fund the Salt Lake Valley Habitat for Humanity&039;s mission of eliminating poverty housing within our community. By donating materials to the ReStore you not only help assist in the building of a Habitat home but also reduce the amount of materials sent to the local landfill. ReStores keep over 950 tons of materials out of the landfill each year. ReClaim, ReCycle, RePurchase, ReStore!
